Film Database 2020-2022
Pat and I sat down and watched a feature film together most evenings since the first lockdown in March 2020 until March 2023, unless we were away or watching an important footie match for example…
We strictly took it in turns to choose a film. Start time: 7:30pm.
Most of the movies I chose to watch have appeared on an old and constantly updated list of “films to see before I die”.
Many friends, family, colleagues and even random people I’ve met in the pub have contributed suggestions over many years now.
To find the films, we make use of:
- Netflix
- Amazon Prime
- IPlayer
- YouTube
- Disney+
- ITV Hub
- or sometimes the cheapest option is to buy a specific film on DVD from Ebay!
To keep track of our daily viewings, we’ve been using database software called “Tap Forms 5 for Mac/iPhone/iPad”.
Total films watched to date: 719! There are currently still another 297 on my list of “films to see before I die”.

Methuselah
In 1987, a postal wargames campaign was organised by Mark Goddard. Set in the ancient world (starting in 969BC), the game took on a complete ‘life of its own’, entertaining the seven players for three joyous years. ‘The Book of Methuselah‘ — a nostalgic set of four volumes — is available below.
Volume 1 contains a short introduction to the game, a reproduction of the map, rules, sample battle reports, players’ orders etc.
Volumes 2-4 comprise facsimiles of many of the newsletters: Over 200 pages of cartoons, false battle reports, rude jokes, poems, a crossword puzzle and all manner of imaginative skulduggery.
